Overall Celebration Goal:
To celebrate one hundred years of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club by paying tribute to all the stakeholders (i.e. fans, shareholders, players, coaches, volunteers and business partners).

Key Themes:
i)    Heritage - documentation and celebration of the history and accomplishments of the Riders over 100 years of building a winning organization
ii)   Community - linkage to the many Saskatchewan communities of interest that have supported of the Riders.
iii)   Education - focus on future leader development by reinforcing the Riders core values with students of all ages.
iv)   Generations - recognizing the differences in needs/interests between the four generations of stakeholders that have contributed to the 100 years of success
v)    Legacy - building a sustainable program framework that reinforces the Rider's perpetual contribution to Saskatchewan.


Summary of Events:


Where is Riderville?
•    On line contest open to all Rider fans worldwide
•    Contest will run from May 1 – June 15, 2010
•    Communities can enter by uploading photos and videos showing local events
•    Fans will select the final winner, recognized at an October 2010 home game
•    Winning community will receive $25,000 for minor sports   

Youth Educational Outreach

•    Gainer’s Guide, two new activity journals being introduced through player visits starting January 2010
•    Builds on program in place for last decade
•    Focus on “stay in school” and enhancing reading skills for K-grade 3 and grades 4-8
•    Students can win tickets by participating
•    Opportunity for students to write their favourite Rider player
•    Provides students with games, puzzles and exercises


Anniversary Artwork

•    Centennial seeking commemorative artwork to mark the 100th anniversary
•    Indications of interest being sought from artists with Saskatchewan connections
•    Request process began in early September
•    Selected artists will have the winter months to produce their artwork
•    Unveiling to occur in spring 2010
•    The collection will be available to be shown across Saskatchewan during 2010
•    Reproductions available for sale through the Rider Store locations

The Art of Riderville
•    A celebration of feature artwork, photos, and Rider related material will be on display at the Dunlop Art Gallery, September 4 - November 14, 2010 in
     Regina at 2311 12th Avenue (Regina Public Library).
•   Original Centennial commisioned artwork will be on display as a tribute to the Riders influence in Saskatchewan.
•    An Exhibition produced in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame

Centennial Documentary
•    Production of an anniversary documentary in conjunction with Partners in Motion, a successful Saskatchewan based film production company
•    “The First 100 Years” a one hour production focused on the thrills and challenges of the Riders over the years
•    Uses archival photos and film with re-enactments to showcase the history and steadfast support of the fans across Canada
•    Will be unveiled in spring 2010 with special showings followed by wide distribution through various cable channels  
•    DVD versions available as keepsakes for Rider fans and special gifts




You’re Invited - Calling All Cheerleaders (Former and Current)!!
- Starting with Central Collegiate through the Golden Girls to the CKRM Cheer Team

- Planning has started for a Rider Cheerleader reunion – summer 2010 in Regina

- Get reacquainted; join the fun; drag out your cheer uniform!

- Practice those dance steps; get ready to show off your moves!

- Let us know you’re out there, register at 2010@saskriders.com

Super Supporters
•    Identifying Rider fans who have continuously held season tickets for greater than 30/40/50 years
•    Collection of testimonials of the influence  the Riders have had on their lives over the years
•    Special photo gallery to showcase long time supporters contributions to the Riders and Saskatchewan

Rider Century Club
•    Opportunity to recognize Saskatchewan residents 100 years or older and their support for the Riders
•    Residents asked to register with short biography indicating their support and interest in the Riders
•    One Resident will be recognized on field during a 2010 home game
•    All registered centurions will be profiled on an in-stadium video screen during the 2010 season

Grey Cup Riderville Celebrations
•    Join us at the Riderville 2010 Grey Cup Celebration at the Shaw Convention Centre in Edmonton, November 25-27, 2010
•    Special luncheon celebrating the 2010 Centennial is planned for November 26, 2010 in Riderville.

Community Connections
•    Another special opportunity for the Riders to give back to Saskatchewan communities for the support over 100 years
•    Opportunity for the Riders to celebrate the 80 communities in Saskatchewan that were incorporated in 1910
•    Riders to provide a birthday basket for local communities in 2010 to assist with their local celebrations
•    Each community will be mentioned in-stadium during the 2010 season
•     Two fans from each community will receive tickets and recognition at an August 2010 home game


2010 In Stadium Theming
•    Each 2010 home game will have a theme representing the five eras of the Riders
•    The eras are drawn from the 100th Anniversary Book being unveiled on September 9, 2009
•    Part of the Riders continuing commitment to and leadership of the CFL retro program
•    Fans will be encouraged to join in the fun of each theme with their retro gear
•    Highlights provided as part of the video celebrations at each game
